Last Regular Season Game for Marc Chasin
Senior Year Results
Last Saturday, the Ithaca College men's basketball team took on Vassar College in their last regular season game of the season.
As tradition tell us, the last regular season home game of every collegiate season brings us Senior Night. A night for players to reflect, for fans to celebrate, and for family members to support their athletes along the way.
A Career in Reflection
Senior guard Marc Chasin's career ended abruptly last Tuesday, as the Bombers lost to Skidmore College in the first round of the Liberty League playoffs.
A four years starter, Chasin made an impact for the Bombers immediately. As a freshman, the Miami native put up 14.8 points per game, and reached double-figures 17 different times on his way to ECAC Rookie of the Year.
Chasin continued to improve. The next year, in an increased role, Chasin posted an improved stat line, and continued to improve on the little things.
"Sophomore year was huge for me," said Chasin. "The guys around me really helped me thrive. They knew I was going to be shooting more, and they never complained, or anything. I think our team really matured throughout the whole season."
The following year nothing changed. Chasin led the Bombers in points and minutes played. After more than 100 career games played and over 1,500 points scored in an Ithaca Bombers uniform, Chasin engrained himself as one of the greatest Ithaca men's basketball players this program as ever seen.
Senior Night
Last Saturday, the Bombers took on Vassar College. It was the senior's last regular season home game. With his mother, brother, and high school basketball coach in attendance, Chasin led the Bombers in style. He scored a game-high 15 points, and did everything possible to secure the win.

"Unfortunately, we lost. I'm just happy my family and friends got to see me play one last time," said Chasin. "We hung on there for awhile, but at the end of the day, I made some mistakes that cost us the game."
Humble in defeat; one of Chasin's core values that shined bright after last Saturday's loss. An emotional Chasin met with family, friends, coaches, and fans to reflect on the night and his great career here at Ithaca College after the game.

"Basketball's been a part of my life forever," said Chasin. "It's going to be hard for me to let go, for sure, but I'm just glad I got to end it here, in front of so much love."
Senior Year Results
This year in an assist-man role, Chasin led the Bombers to their first playoff berth in four years. Although they lost to Skidmore in the first round of the playoffs, Chasin and his teammates were still happy with their accomplishments.
"Marc has sacrificed shots this years, and has shown us tons of maturity," said fellow senior guard Carroll Rich. "I've been playing with Marc since freshman year, and this year he really took the leadership role seriously."
According to Chasin, he was asked at the beginning of the year by head coach Jim Mullins to take more time to coach and teach the young players on the team. With help from the other three seniors, the Bombers matured and developed in one of the best young teams in the Liberty League.

"Mullins asked me early on to help mentor the young guys," said Chasin. "So I really tried to take that role seriously, and I think in the end, it really paid off."
